Job Summary:
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Lead Memory Care Caregiver to join our team at The Grove at Trelago. This vital role involves providing exceptional care to residents with memory impairments, including Alzheimer's disease and other forms of dementia. As a Lead Memory Care Caregiver, you will not only provide direct personal care but also lead a team of caregivers in delivering high-quality, individualized support that fosters a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment.
**Key Responsibilities: **
~Direct Care: Provide compassionate and respectful personal care to residents, including assistance with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, eating, and mobility.
~Team Leadership: Supervise, mentor, and train a team of caregivers, ensuring high standards of care are met and encouraging a collaborative and positive work environment.
~Individualized Care Plans: Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop, implement, and update personalized care plans that meet the unique needs and preferences of each resident.
~Engagement Activities: Facilitate and lead memory-boosting activities and social programs tailored to enhance cognitive skills, social interaction, and the overall quality of life for residents.
~Monitoring and Reporting: Observe residents' physical and emotional conditions, report changes to the appropriate healthcare professionals, and maintain accurate documentation in compliance with regulations and company policies.
~Communication: Maintain open, effective communication with residents, their families, and the care team to ensure transparent and responsive care coordination.
~Safety and Compliance: Uphold safety protocols and infection control measures, ensuring the well-being of residents and staff and compliance with all regulatory requirements.
**Qualifications: **
- High school diploma or equivalent required; certification in nursing assistance (CNA) or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in memory care or a related caregiver role, with at least 1 in a leadership or supervisory position.
- Strong understanding of dementia and memory-related conditions, as well as the most effective caregiving practices.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with residents, families, and team members.
- Patience, empathy, and exceptional listening skills.
- CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays if needed.
